For this lab, we worked as a class to see how different materials act to heat. the materials in the lab were: sand, bark, wood, gravel, dirt, tarp, Plexiglass, plastic, pine, redwood, pressure treated, cement, rubber, steel, black wood, green wood, white wood, yellow wood, and steel. we then had to make our own lab to test the materials. we tested water resistance by soaking the materials in water, then see how quickly they could dry off. Then, we created another lab where we tested how temperature resistanent the materials could be. we used a heat lamp, and checked the tem with a laser thermometer and then we put the materials in the fridge to see how to temperature of the materials would change. we then recorded the temperature measurements in a google docs. Here is thelink. Our group was in charge of recording the temperature of the colored wood. We noticed that the black wood had the highest temperature, and that the white wood had the lowest temperature. With the other lab we dunked pieces of wood into water and we would see how much the wood weighs after a certain amount of time. This part of the project was not recorded
